Studio M Hotel

I liked the general decor of the room and hotel, very clean and cozy! Made for an excellent staycation spot. Staying in a loft was a unique experience. Much of the fun came from looking around the room and climbing the stairs haha!

While I was looking forward to the loft stay, we didn’t use the loft as much! I believe a huge portion of the floor space goes into the loft. So the bottom floor was a little cramped. Smaller than what I expected from photos! Stairs up to the loft are also a little steep. But overall the stay was excellent.

This was a pleasant loft room. It had essential facilities and it was clean and modern. Location was very good and the lounge area was also very pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh omelettes option, plenty of juices and desserts.

The loft was very small and pictures were indicating a slightly bigger space. There was no proper sitting area and the toilet was extremely small. I did not like that after arriving to the hotel I was expected to do the self check in. Reception was full of staff members and they were offering links rather than a service. I submitted all the requested information while booking this place and had to repeat this exercise while being tired after journey, once we arrived at the hotel. I was also offered buying breakfasts although my booking should be exclusive of them. I had to point this to the staff and this was rectified. I think, in an apology gesture, we received 2 vouchers for the drinks at the hotel bar, but were unable to claim them as there were no present staff when we went to the bar, within hours indicated. Understandably, our schedule was too busy to accommodate multiple tries and searching for the staff. I also did not quite like a member of the staff knocking at our door at 8.30am to offer the laundry service, but maybe it is a customary thing in that location.

The loft style was not practical and the hallway was a little dark / creepy. My room was located far at the end of the hallway, next to exit and stairway which made me feel uncomfortable since I was staying alone.

Staffs was not as helpful as I expected especially since I was walking with cruthes during my visit.

Abit dusty on the window ledges. The patterned mirror in the toilet feels abit scary and intimidating.

Stayed in the premier loft, a unique room for staycation purpose. Enjoy the different feel as compared to usual hotels. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby hence making it a good location.

The shower head switch in our loft was spoiled so we couldn’t turn it back from the mist option it was stuck at. Would appreciate to have bath robes provided. Breakfast was good but could include more options to make it more worth the value for a longer stay.

Ambience at Studio M Hotel exudes a modern timeless elegance, courtesy of the smart monochrome hallways and minimalist design. The lobby features a central molded reception desk with soft curves, cascading LED rods overhead, a smooth polished stone floor, and large floor-to-ceiling windows. Pops of quirky sculptured vases of plants in vibrant colours offset the clean lines, lending a sense of energy. The walls surrounding the Sun Terrace feature large murals of nature, flowers, and plants, complementing the greenery around the area. Rooms at Studio M Hotel are clean, comfortable, but cramped. I stayed at the Executive Loft room. The loft room has huge floor-to-ceiling windows, which offered a view of the Singapore River. The living area has a comfortable lounging sofa bed, a decent study desk, and a small kitchen counter with flask, mini cooler fridge, and the only sink. The in-room wifi connectivity is fast and stable, and power points are accessible. The tiny toilet and bathroom with standing shower occupy separate spaces, and the amenities are restocked daily. Stairs connect the bedroom space on the upper mezzanine, this area is small and cramped, with the large comfortable bed taking up the whole area. In light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I observed Studio M Hotel staff performing more thorough and frequent cleaning of common areas. Staff were equipped with masks, and random temperature checks were performed. Hand sanitizers were also made available in common areas for guests to avail themselves. The swimming pool is large but long, which means swimming the length of it only allows for 2 people at a time. There's electronic dartboards along the deck, and a small business centre. The gymnasium is well-equipped with a good variety of fitness equipment.

Food at Studio M Hotel is mostly provided by the breakfast-only buffet dining at the Breeze Dining Area. Open only during breakfast hours, there's a small range of dishes, which are decent but ultimately forgettable - you're better off eating at the many excellent cafes and restaurants in the Robertson Quay area. Service at Studio M Hotel is polite, efficient, but largely transactional. There's little engagement from the fairly young staff. They made several mistakes with my access, which was only partially corrected despite multiple attempts, so I experienced difficulty accessing some common areas of the hotel.

The location was great. Breakfast was very good and the menu changed a bit each day. The rooms were good size although a bit cramped, but for a place to sleep and hang out a bit before/after being out, it was more than adequate There was also a darts game to play which was a lot of fun. One suggestion would have been rather than to take cash (it only accepted 2dollar bills) would be able to bill the games via the card reader to your room. Would have made things much more simple and not have to hunt down change from local vendors. The pool was basic, but good enough. Everything seemed to be quite clean and we often found staff out and about cleaning things throughout the day.

The bathroom with toilet was quite small. Not a big deal, but a little more room would be nice. There was some "fit and finishing" items in the room that could be better. Cutouts around the ceiling lights was not in good condition, but not a deal breaker. We also inquired via booking.com to the property about possible cancelation options due to CoronaVirus. We were not necessarily looking to cancel, but wanted to see what options were available. Also the price of the property dropped after we had booked. In both occasions booking.com's customer service contacted the property to inquire about a cancellation exception and also a reduction in cost due to price change. In neither case did the property respond. Luckily we ended up going ahead with the trip so no need to worry about canceling. Booking.com ended up refunding the price difference on their own. While the lack of communication with the property did not affect our stay, it did have a negative impact on the impression of the property and I wish they would have responded.

Fridge wasnt cold enough, there was no slippers provided and the toilet was too small, one of the lifts kept rejecting our card and the quality of the tv was very bad
